Chelsea are Premier League champions, but it doesn’t appear as though Antonio Conte is going to rest on his laurels.
According to the Telegraph, Conte will be given £200million to spend this summer, as the Italian looks to ready his squad for life in the Champions League.
The Telegraph believe that Conte will look to invest a chunk of that in AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who appears to have captured Chelsea’s attention with his fantastic performances both domestically and in Europe.
The Telegraph report that Chelsea are set to open negotiations to sign Bakayoko, who is expected to cost £43million. It’s also reported that Chelsea are interested in signing Bakayoko’s teammate, Thomas Lemar, but Monaco are not expected to part with both of them in the summer transfer window.
It appears as though Chelsea have learnt from the disaster of a season that we endured last time around., which is great news.
