Diego Costa’s proposed move to the Chinese Super League would make him the best-paid footballer on the planet, according to the Daily Record.
The Daily Record believe that Costa is close to joining Tianjin Quanjian, with the Chinese outfit offering a whopping £75million in exchange for his services.
In addition to paying one of the highest transfer fees in history to convince Chelsea to part with the hitman, Tianjin have reportedly offered Costa eye-watering personal terms to convince him to make the move.
According to the Daily Record, Costa has been offered a £650,000-a-week deal – after tax – in a bid to tempt him into a move to the far east. That’s a staggering £33.8million-a-year.
For perspective, the BBC reported at the time of his arrival that Chelsea paid a fee in the region of £30million to sign N’Golo Kante. The financial power that Chinese sides have at their fingertips is staggering.
