Juventus are set to extend the contract of Chelsea target Alex Sandro, according to Sportmediaset.
As per Sportmediaset, Chelsea lodged several bids to sign Sandro in the summer transfer window, but their pursuit of the former FC Porto man proved unsuccessful and it now looks as though he is set to extend his stay in Turin.
Sportmediaset claim that the Juventus hierarchy are working on finding an agreement with Sandro to extend his contract, which currently has three years left to run, until 2022.
The Italian outlet believe that the new deal will see Sandro earn £4.6M-a-year in Turin, over £1.8M more a year than he was previously earning. In total, his new terms work out at around £88K-a-week, which isn’t a great deal in modern football.
Chelsea will have to look elsewhere in their pursuit of a new left-back. Marcos Alonso remains our only option on the left-hand-side, with Kenedy able to deputise in emergencies.
Baba Rahmann has not been included in our Premier League or Champions League squad and it seems unlikely that he will feature for the Blues this season.
