Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Juventus utility man Kwadwo Asamoah on a free transfer, according to The Sun.

The prospect of Chelsea signing a player who has played at left-back for Juventus has, in the past 12-months or so, been mouthwatering for the Blues faithful. That’s because, as The Sun note, the player we’ve been linked with is Alex Sandro.

However, The Sun now report that Sandro is expected to stay put in Turin, with Chelsea opting to pursue one of his Juventus teammates – Kwadwo Asamoah.

Asamoah’s Juventus contract comes to an end in the summer, with the report claiming that Massimiliano Allegri’s side are keen to hand him an extension. However, the Ghanian may well have his head turn by the plethora of interest in signing him.

Napoli, Inter Milan and Galatasaray are thought to be interested in securing his signature, while Chelsea have also entered the race. Only time will tell how genuine our interest is, and whether this move comes to fruition.
