Chelsea has put aside £26m in the hope to convince Roma in to selling striker Edin Dzeko, Sky Sports reports.
The Blues are desperate to land a striker in January which would relieve the pressure off Alvaro Morata’s shoulders.
As per Sky Sports, Dzeko, 31, wants a salary of £90,000 per week and a contract that lasts till the summer of 2021. This would go against the club’s policy of offering players over 30 one-year deals.
It seems that the club are confident with agreeing a transfer sum with the Italian club but the player agreeing terms continues to be an obstacle. With five days to go in this transfer window, Chelsea still has enough time to wrap up the deal.
Dzeko signing worth the risk

Despite this potential signing going against our traditions, a move for the Bosnian makes perfect sense.
With how crazy the transfer market is, £26m for a player that scored 37 goals last season is a great deal. However, the sooner Dzeko can put pen to paper on a Chelsea contract the better.
