Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea winger Willian, according to the Independent.
The Independent believe that Jose Mourinho’s number one target was Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic, but the two clubs are some way apart on agreeing a fee. Mourinho could subsequently look elsewhere in his hunt for offensive reinforcements, and he could turn to his former employers.
According to the Independent, Mourinho is keen on reuniting with Willian, who he signed during his time at Stamford Bridge. However, the Brazilian does not appear to be keen on making a switch to Old Trafford this summer.
The Independent report that Willian has continuously reaffirmed his loyalty to Chelsea, and will likely not be going anywhere this summer. It looks as though ‘The Special One’ will suffer defeat in two consecutive pursuits of summer signings.
Despite Willian not appearing to be in Antonio Conte’s thinking, it looks as though he is more than willing to stay put in West London.
