We have an update to bring you on the Edin Dzeko situation thanks to the Mirror‘s latest report.
As the Mirror report, the Premier League champions are in double-negotiations to sign both Dzeko and teammate Emerson Palmieri from AS Roma. This comes just months after the Blues poached Antonio Rudiger from the Serie A giants.
Should they arrive, the pair will provided Antonio Conte with much needed cover both at left-wing-back and in attack. We have posted comprehensive coverage on the negotiations in the past few days, and now we have another update cited from the Mirror’s report this hour.
The tabloid believe that Dzeko’s agent is in London today to hold talks with Chelsea over personal terms. It is reported that Dzeko has two-years left on his contract with AS Roma and would like to agree a similar deal with us.
However, as you will know, club policy is to only offer over 30s a one-year contract, so we will have to do what we were not prepared to do for club legends Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole if we want to sign the Bosnian this month.
It remains to be seen whether we’ll be prepared to do that. Stay tuned for further updates…
