In case you have been living under a rock, the Express report that Chelsea are interested in signing AS Roma centre-forward Edin Dzeko. The former Manchester City forward appears to tick all the boxes for Antonio Conte, who looks to be in the market for a target-man in the January transfer window.
However, the tabloid’s report claims that our move to sign the Bosnian from AS Roma is stalling, and the Chelsea board are preparing a contingency plan.
As per the Express, the Premier League champions have lined up a shock move for Arsenal hitman Olivier Giroud incase the deal to take Dzeko to Stamford Bridge falls through.
Giroud has become somewhat of a bit-part player at the Emirates, but has been extremely effective off the substitutes bench. It remains to be seen whether he would have the remotest interest in swapping the Gunners bench for a place among the Chelsea substitutes.
