Chelsea are going to have to move fast in order to avoid missing out on AS Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger.
According to Calciomercato, Premier League champions are interested in signing Rudiger, but it looks as though the Germany international could be set for a move elsewhere.
Calciomercato’s Italian counterpart La Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Rudiger is in talks with Inter Milan. Former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti has recently taken over at the San Siro, and the Gazzetta believe that he wants to take Rudiger with him.
The Gazzetta believe that Rudiger is prepared to sign a £2.65million-a-year, five-deal deal with Inter – but Roma are thought to be less willing to see the move materialise.
According to the Gazzetta, Inter have made a bid in the region of £24.8million, but Roma are thought to be holding out for as much as £35.3million.
This could well be, if Calciomercato are correct in thinking we are interested, Chelsea’s opportunity to swoop in and steal Rudiger from Inter’s grasp.
