Juventus are considering a move for Chelsea midfield general Nemanja Matic, according to ESPN.
ESPN report that Matic is entering the final two years of his contract at Stamford Bridge, which has alerted Juventus, who are now closely monitoring the Serbia international’s situation.
ESPN believe that Chelsea’s pursuit of AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakyoko has raised further question marks over whether Matic will still be a Chelsea player next season. ESPN note that Matic could be tempted to jump ship if he finds his game-time with the Blues is limited next term.
Juventus, according to ESPN, are long-term admirers of Matic, and if he does decide to leave Chelsea, they will be waiting in the wings to offer him an escape route.
Matic has been a cornerstone in two title-winning sides since returning in 2014. It would be a great shame to see him leave this summer, whatever the fee we receive.
