Leicester City are ready to demand £40 million for their star midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to The Telegraph.
Following the sales of Nemanja Matic and Nathaniel Chalobah to other Premier League clubs this summer, Antonio Conte has been given the task of rebuilding his midfield with the rigors of Champions League football in mind.
The beginning of the transfer window started brightly for the London club as the Blues secured a deal to sign coveted French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
However, as per The Telegraph, the Foxes are playing hardball with the Premier League champions for Drinkwater who has four years left on his current contract and are now demanding that the Blues pay them £40 million for his services.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea had a bid of £15 million turned down earlier this month and are considering a second bid of £25 million for the 27-year-old.
Yet, the same paper reports that Leicester will accept nothing less than £40 million for the midfielder.
