Manchester United have outbid Chelsea in the race to sign AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to the Daily Mail.
As the Daily Mail report, merely days ago Jose Mourinho stole Romelu Lukaku from under the nose of his former employers, and it looks as though The Special One is planning to replicate that with Bakayoko.
The Daily Mail believe that Man United have informed Monaco that they are willing to pay in excess of £40M for Bakayoko, whereas Chelsea are only thought to be offering £37M.
It is reported that sources close to the deal have revealed that Man United are now in the driving seat, with Chelsea at risk of being left red-face once again.
There is no excuse for missing out on Bakayoko, his arrival seemed to be a foregone conclusion. If we allow him to join a direct rival, it is quite frankly embarrassing from the board.
