PSV Eindhoven have opened talks with Chelsea over the possibility of signing midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a permanent basis, according to the London Evening Standard.
van Ginkel spent parts of the 2015/16 and 2016/17 campaigns on loan in the Eredivisie, and certainly made an impression. In total, the 24-year-old made 28 league appearances for PSV, finding the back of the net on 15 occasions from midfield.
His goal tally was Lampard-esque, and it looks as though PSV are keen for him to stick around. As per the London Evening Standard, the Dutch giants are interested in signing van Ginkel permanently, and Chelsea are thought to be prepared to negotiated.
The London Evening Standrd believe that van Ginkel will not be part of Antonio Conte’s plans for next season, and the Blues are prepared to cash-in if they receive an offer in the region of £10M.
If Conte is given the opportunity to invest that money back into his squad, it may well be a shrewd move to sell him while he still has value.
