Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is being linked with a deadline day move to Chelsea after the 26-year-old asked to leave Algeria’s national team camp this morning, according to Sky Sports.
As per Sky Sports, Riyad Mahrez asked to leave Algeria’s national team camp this morning in order to “formalise his transfer to his new club”. However, it remains to be seen where the Foxes winger, who scored 10 goals last season, will be playing after the close of the window.
Chelsea, Tottenham, and Barcelona are all interested in signing the 26-year-old, according to L’Equipe. Yet, Sky Sports report that Roma are the only club to have made a concrete bid for the Algerian, offering Leicester City £31.8 million for the former PFA Player of the Year.
It is reported that the Algeria international handed in a transfer request in late May, making his intentions about leaving the King Power Stadium very clear. However, the 2016 Premier League champions will be reluctant to let one of their best players go so late in the transfer window.
