The imminent arrival of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool could be bad news for Chelsea in more ways than one, according to Calciomercato.
Calciomercato report that Salah is set to undergo a medical ahead of a mega-money move to Anfield, and it could have potential repercussions on the other side of the country in West London.
As per Calciomercato, Premier League champions Chelsea are interested in signing AS Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas, but Salah joining Liverpool could scupper the Blues’ pursuit of the Greece international.
Calciomercato believe that the cash raised by Salah’s sale will mean that Roma will not need to sell anyone else in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, and thus Manolas may not be allowed to join Chelsea.
Chelsea may also find that Salah has developed into a far better one than we saw glimpses of during his time here under Jose Mourinho’s stewardship. Our loss may well be Liverpool’s gain in that respect.
