Chelsea are still reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the striker stalls a new contract, calciomercato.com reports.
The Blues as well as Aubameyang’s former club AC Milan were linked with a move for the 28-year-old in the summer, notably by the Mirror, but Chelsea instead moved for Alvaro Morata.
But despite signing the Spaniard, we continue to be a club associated with signing Aubameyang according to the Italian website.
Even though calciomercato.com suggests that the player would prefer a move back to Milan, Diego Costa’s departure may have opened up the chance to sign the Gabon captain.
Aubameyang’s deal expires in 2020, so Dortmund can still sell their striker who score 40 goals in all competitions last season for a huge fee. You can see this website for the latest odds on if this player will sign next summer.
Chelsea were in talks with signing striker Fernando Llorente in the summer, according to Sky Sports. However, Llorente would sign for rivals Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day.
It’s an area where manager Antonio Conte doesn’t seem fully satisfied but signing Aubameyang would put Michy Batshuayi’s future at the club in potential danger.
