Wolves – Opposition Views

We talk to Wolves fan Dave aka Dudleywolf from Wolverhampton-Wanderers.co.uk ahead of tomorrow’s game.

How long have you Supported Wolverhampton for?
I started supporting Wolves in 1966 after watching England win the World cup! I am therefore old enough to remember watching Wolves beat Chelsea 7-1 at Molineux!

What are your expectations for Wolves for the remainder of the season and do you think you will stay in the EPL?
My hopes for this season are purely to stay up, however we can do it.

Which Wolves players should we look out for?
Player to watch out for-must be Kevin Doyle, if he gets the service he will cause problems, Mad Mick decided to rest him at the Bridge. Also Jarvis our fast winger, he played well at your place and he seems to have found his feet now.

How do you think Michael Mancienne is doing this season? Would you like him to continue on loan next season?
Michael Mancienne won’t make a premier centrehalf in my opinion as he is too light weight, heis best attributes are his pace and ability to read a game. We play him as a defensive midfielder in a 4/5/1. His place on saturday will be taken by a new french kid who looks the biz and played great against spurs.
If we could loan him again I would have him ,whether Mick McCarthy is the best tutor is another thing though!

Your Favorite Chelsea Player?
Favourite Chelsea player would be Joe Cole although he hasn’t had much game time ,I hope he is okay for SA.

What do you think about Chelsea’s chances of winning the title?
I think Chelsea will come second to Man Utd this season, I feel you have better players but Manure seem to grind results out and you have stuttered away this year. Shouldn’t have got rid of the special one, Kenyon would have been a better choice to sack.

Finally, your prediction for the game?
Prediction for saturday, in reality you should win easily but you never know, 3-0 to you anything lower is a bonus.

ive been supporting wolves since 62–likewise i can remember beating chelsea 7-1-i think both the wilkins bros played that day-i also remember both of us getting promoted from the old second div. season 76/77-us as champions-i also remember a w/end trip to london when i went to chelsea in 74 (we won 1-0!-sexton was your manager & i think your ‘new stand’ had just been built) the ‘shed boys’ were out in force & me & my mate didnt utter a word to each other on the tube after!-we just joined in with the ‘sexton must go’ chant-i also remember bumping into john hollins outside the ground b4 the game & getting him to autograph the prog–sorry to reminisce too much but they were the good old days

my fave chelsea player is lampard & he is class 4 england

mancienne has been very dissapointing this season-he was great for us in div.1 but the step up has been 2 much for him this season altho playing 4 a struggling team hasnt helped-good decision by chelsea to loan him out only time will tell if he is good enough

player for u to look out for is def doyle – he has been tremendous this season-i also think guediora will prove to be a good signing for us

prediction for sat = 1-1(on the basis that if hull can draw with you – then so can we!)

success 4 us this season = 4th from bottom-then we will be a different team next season

i think manure will win lge this season unless rooney gets injured as he is on fire this year-hope it continues into the world cup

anyway enjoy the game- i have fond memories of chelsea(hope istill have after sat!) mainly due to osgood the king ,charlie cooke, alan hudson-all great entertainers
