A rather weird tweet regarding Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has gone viral, amassing almost 200,000 likes.
Loftus-Cheek’s excellent performances on-loan with Crystal Palace earned him a place on the plane to Russia with the England national team.
The 22-year-old was involved in the Three Lions’ final World Cup warm-up friendly against Costa Rica, and looks set to play a part in the competition. He’s not just there to make up the numbers.
With England flying out to compete in the World Cup, the squad got suited and booted for their official photoshoot. Loftus-Cheek, we have to admit, was looking rather suave.
Twitter users struggled to contain themselves after seeing photos of the Chelsea academy product, and this fast got a little bit weird.
We’re not entirely sure that the people involved in this thread knew that they were talking about one of English football’s hottest prospects here. He’s being treated like one of those social media models you see jump from timeline to timeline.
Have a look for yourself, at the time of writing, the tweet has been retweeted 34k times and liked 178k times – and it’s still rising.

If it wasn’t part of our job, we’d probably stay off social media. It used to be a lot safer to browse. Nowadays we find ourselves left scarred by what appears on our timeline.
