Crystal Palace plot loan raid on Chelsea for second consecutive season

Crystal Palace are keen to take Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on-loan next season, according to This Is Local London.

Palace loaned Ruben Loftus-Cheek for the 2017/18 campaign, and that proved to be an overwhelming success.

Loftus-Cheek is currently in Russia set to compete in the World Cup with the England national team. That’s all down to the success he tasted at Selhurst Park.

Palace appear keen to attempt to replicate the successful role they played in Loftus-Cheek’s development with Abraham.

This Is Local London believe Palace are likely to sell Christian Benteke this summer. Abraham could be drafted in on a temporary basis to replace the Belgian.

Abraham found the back of the net five times in 31 Premier League appearances last term. He was in no way aided by the lack of quality in that relegated Swansea side.

The 20-year-old could do with another season in the Premier League before a final decision is made as to whether he is Chelsea standard.

If Palace are prepared to offer him game-time under a manager as experienced as Roy Hodgson, it could prove to be a masterstroke.
