Chelsea youngster Kenedy has scored his very first goal for temporary employers Newcastle United against Southampton today.

Kenedy, a graduate from the Fuminense academy, has shown us exactly what he’s capable of with virtually every opportunity he has been given to impress since joining the club back in 2015.

Having previously been kept behind as part of the first-team squad by both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, Kenedy needed a move away from Stamford Bridge in order to continue his development.

Kenedy celebrates after scoring for Chelsea against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

A loan to Newcastle has provided him with the chance to play regular Premier League football, which will be invaluable in the 22-year-old’s progression as a player.

It hasn’t taken him long to prove to the Magpies faithful exactly how good a player he is, and he will have put a smile on their face’s today with a goal in the second minute of their clash with Southampton.

The chest control from the Brazilian was absolutely sensational, and he had the finish to match, even if it was a little scuffed. What a goal – what a talent!
