Chelsea started their preseason with a big win over Western Sydney Wanderers this morning, with some lovely goals on show.

Chelsea have just blown away Western Sydney Wanderers 6-4 in the Blues’ first preseason game.
Xabi Alonso started the game with one team, then changed players at half time, then made an almost full outfield change midway through the second half. It paid off, with the senior players coming on and changing the game in the final 25 minutes.
As always, there’s only so much you can take from a game which is as much as physical test as a footballing one. But you can’t complain when you see some nice performances and nice goals from the players expected to be starting once the Premier League kicks off in less than a month.

Chelsea too strong for locals
The first goal was lovely – some superb football playing out from the back ending up with wonderkid Dastan Satpayev, who drilled a lovely finish in.

WSW scored twice to take the lead, but Dario Essugo was on hand to level things up before half time with a nice strike.

Moments after coming on with some of the other big boys, Joao Pedro was able to set up Jamie Gittens to make it 3-3.

He didn’t stop there – the Brazilian banged in a hattrick in the final ten minutes to win the game for the Blues.
