Chelsea have just announced the signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.

The 26 year old arrives for a fee of around £52m, and has signed a contract until 2032.

Lacroix is still on his post-World Cup holiday, and it’s not clear whether he will be joining the squad’s preseason tour or will just rest at home and prepare for the new season at Cobham, potentially playing his first minutes in the final friendly against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge.

Lacroix wants to win everything at Chelsea

“I am really happy to be part of this beautiful club. Everyone knows the legend of Chelsea, its tradition of winning, and to be a part of that is a proud moment,” Lacroix said to the club’s official website.

‘When I spoke with the manager, I saw that we have the same direction and desire for this club.

‘We want to win. When you see the quality of the players here, everything we have around the club, it’s something that we can achieve. The ambition is to lift trophies, and I can’t wait to contribute.”

The former Wolfsburg man is top quality and at a perfect age. He’s fast and physical and Premier League experienced. We’re delighted with this move.

Jordan Henderson’s move to Stamford Bridge has also been given the “here we go” from Fabrizio Romano, and should be completed in the next few days.

Napoli are keen on Benoit Badiashile – it’s just a relief that someone is, after a long period where there were no rumours around the Frenchman at all.
