Chelsea have already “decided against” allowing attacker in Blues preseason for very good reason

Chelsea are weighing up what to do with a number of their squad players, and among them is Omari Kellyman, who was on loan at Cardiff.

The World Cup is about to kick off but Chelsea have a lot of thinking to do about their team. Who is going to stay, who is going to go, and who is going to arrive? Simon Johnson’s piece for the Athletic casts an eye over the whole group of new additions and returning loanees set to meet Xabi Alonso at Cobham in just a few weeks.

Chelsea already have loan plan lined up for 20 year old talent

It’s packed full of interesting insight, including on some of the lesser mentioned players. Take Omari Kellyman, for example. He finally got his career back on track with a loan to Cardiff last season. And Chelsea want to continue that upward momentum:

“The 20-year-old is highly rated and [Chelsea] want him to continue his development with another loan, so much so that they have already decided against the attacker joining the pre-season tour, helping him get a move as soon as possible.”

So don’t expect to see him soon. We like this plan, giving the 20 year old a full preseason to impress his new coach and settle wherever he ends up.

In other news…

Nicolas Jackson also looked like he was never coming back to Stamford Bridge – but a change of manager has apparently led to a change for heart for the Senegal star.

If Jackson does stay, that likely means new arrival Emmanuel Emegha will be gone before he’s even played a minute for Chelsea – not what he thought he was signing up for in September, let’s face it.
