So far this summer we’ve seen a very predictable series of links between Chelsea and Man City. Half of Chelsea’s recruitment team used to work at City, and City have Enzo Maresca as their new manager, so there are a lot of easy links to draw.
The focus in terms of players going from London to Manchester has been Enzo Fernandez and Malo Gusto. But today a third name was added to the list.
Insider Mark Brus, writing for CaughtOffside, has said that Maresca has a “genuine and concrete” interest in signing Pedro Neto too.
Neto offered to another team as departure grows more realistic
“There have been some informal discussions,” Brus’ source said.
“They’re all on board with letting him go if City or anyone else comes in with the right offer. I’d expect that to be in the region of €80m. Enzo Maresca is still a big fan of his from working with him at Chelsea, so he’ll push to get him at City if he can.”
It was only yesterday that we heard about Neto being offered to Saudi clubs by his agent, Jorge Mendes. Clearly there’s a bit of a campaign on right now to make it clear he’s available for transfer. We’re just not sure if it’s Chelsea or the player’s camp who are making that clear.
