A surprise link has connected Chelsea with Dean Henderson, Crystal Palace’s 29 year old goalkeeper.

The summer transfer window is open and things are about to get excited. Even a team like Chelsea, who won’t have a huge budget to spent, will have tons of action in terms of sales, purchases and loans.
One unusual name we’ve been linked to in the last 24 hours is Dean Henderson of Crystal Palace. Formerly top Chelsea influence Alex Goldberg last night Tweeted that Chelsea had “made checks” on the England international.
Henderson doesn’t make sense as a Chelsea transfer target
“I understand Chelsea have made checks on Dean Henderson,” Goldberg wrote on Twitter.
“Nothing more, nothing less. I imagine they’ve done this with a good handful. I just know Henderson is one of them.”
A bid for the 29 year old really wouldn’t make that much sense for Chelsea. They have Robert Sanchez as their senior option, and Mike Penders as the up and comer. Henderson isn’t so much better than Sanchez that he would be worth spending big on as a stop gap, especially given the money that Palace would demand for their regular and successful first choice goalkeeper.

A dynamic Serie A left sided option is apparently top of Chelsea’s list for the summer should they decide to move on from Marc Cucurella.
