Chelsea are “on the verge” of selling Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa, according to reports coming from France this afternoon.

Chelsea finally have a breakthrough on a sale which could prove to be one of their biggest of the summer.
After a long period of negotiation, the Blues have apparently agreed a deal to sell Nicholas Jackson to Aston Villa. The exclusive comes from Santi Aouna of Footmercato, who says that the Villains have submitted an offer of “around €70m including bonuses” for the Senegal star.
Chelsea are “on the verge” of accepting the proposal. They were said to want €65m for the forward, so we can assume this deal is something like €60m with another €10m in bonuses and add ons.
Chelsea squad trim continues apace with latest outgoing
It’s good news for the Blues, who still have a lot of players to shift with the days left in the window running out fast. Each one that’s ticked off allows more focus on the hardest deals to do.
Jackson is a really good player, and we were expecting Xabi Alonso to find a place for him in the squad. However, perhaps the former Villareal man himself was the one pushing a move. Either way, he’s on his way now.
