Chelsea’s midfield is the big question mark on this Deadline Day, and there is as much intrigue about who might come as about who might go.

Enzo Fernandez’s move to Man City seems to be grinding towards a conclusion which will see him leave. Chelsea therefore need at least one replacement. Lamine Camara has been favourite for that role all week, and today Fabrizio Romano has reports of a Blues bid for the Monaco man.

He says Chelsea have offered €45m for the former Metz midfielder, who has made it clear he wants to join the Blues, and has reportedly already spoken with Xabi Alonso.

Chelsea open with low offer for Camara

This feels like a bit of a low ball offer. It’s reportedly less than Crystal Palace were offering for the midfielder earlier this summer. It’s no surprise at all that Monaco see it as “too low,” and it feels like a mad time to start low-balling offers, when every hour counts.

We’ve got a strong feeling this won’t be the last update we post about Camara today, and there are likely a few twists and turns still to come in this case.

Chelsea are getting through some of their sales – Marc Guiu joined RB Leipzig earlier in the day.

Fabrizio Romano dropped the incredible bomb last night that two Chelsea players were moving to Tottenham today.

Romano first revealed the Tosin interest yesterday afternoon, when even that deal alone seemed unlikely.
