Cobham Next Gen midfielder Reggie Watson has just been awarded the PL2 Player of the Month award for September, capping a brilliant month where he scored 3 goals in 2 games, including a gorgeous free kick.
For a 16 year old playing with players largely 18 or above, that’s an incredible achievement. It followed on from an excellent August for the young midfielder. CNG sit fourth in the table after picking up 3 wins in 4 games, largely thanks to Watson’s contributions.

Watson continues to impress and push for first team consideration

Watson and Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli are both in a similar situation as 16 year old central midfielders who Xabi Alonso has taken a shine to. While MNJ was the lucky one to get the first team call up against Brentford before the international break, Watson now has this award.
Both of them are going to be top players, and by the looks of things we could see them each a few more times in the first team this season, especially now Alonso has his eye on them.
In other news…
We’ve predicted Chelsea’s team to face Portsmouth in a friendly tomorrow – Watson could certainly feature in the game at some point.
Multiple Chelsea players won’t be in the squad because they are are on individual training programmes that run until next week.
Chelsea are moving ahead with their plans to sign Alex Scott, and today they got more details on what Bournemouth are looking for.
