Pedro Neto is a very interesting name to watch in the final two weeks of the transfer window at Chelsea.
On the one hand, he’s clearly not a player they’re keen to sell. He started yesterday in the game against Real Sociedad, showing that he’s very much in Xabi Alonso’s plans if he stays.
However, there have been whispers about Man City interest all summer, and those in the know have made it very clear that Neto isn’t “untouchable” if an offer of the right size comes in.
Neto not untouchable at the right price
While that City interest has faded a little, it’s been replaced in the last 24 hours by something even more intriguing – reports of an attempt by Saudi club Al Hilal to sign the Portugal star. The usually reliable Sacha Tavolieri has even gone as far as to report that they’ve agreed personal terms with the former Wolves man.
Chelsea are said to want €60m – which would seem a little low for a peak age Premier League starter, especially given how much Saudi clubs can be made to pay.
Simon Phillips backs up the story, saying that Neto is “weighing up his options” as he thinks Estevao is ahead of him in the pecking order on the right wing now.
