The last 24 hours have been dominated by Chelsea’s interested in Marco Palestra, with Fabrizio Romano giving it the “here we go” treatment this morning.
However, he’s not the only Serie A defender on our radar. Multiple sources have revived the story from earlier this year that the Blues are “admirers” of Jacobo Ramon.
In January the Blues reportedly tracked Marcos Senesi of Bournemouth, Jeremy Jacquet of Rennes and Ramon of Como. Now Senesi has signed for Tottenham and Jacquet has signed for Liverpool, leaving just Ramon from that shortlist.

Kieran Gill’s article for the Daily Mail back in January named Ramon on our shortlist, and he Tweeted today to confirm our interest remained. Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix has since been added to the list, and that’s where the question is.
The briefs from the club are that they’re going to target experienced players – particularly those with Premier League experience. Ramon, for all his quality, would not fit that description. Lacroix would – but we’ll pay a premium for it.

Another defender who could go is Malo Gusto – he’s been linked with Man City, but Chelsea are putting a monster valuation on him that could make things difficult.
