We were all very excited to have Levi Colwill back this season after he missed all of last season injured.
Speaking about his career so far in an interview this week, the defender was asked to name what was particularly notable about coming through the ranks at Cobham.
Colwill on the endless pressure of coming through at Chelsae
“That’s a hard question to answer, because I was just a kid when I joined, so it’s going back a long way,” Colwill said in his interview on the club’s official website when asked what had surprised him most since joining Chelsea.
“Probably, growing up here and that, just the level of every age group and how it improves until you get to the first team. There’s always improvements being made, so you can never rest on your laurels. So every step you make, you can never think you’ve done it, even now.”
The competition never stops, even when you’re an established first choice – Maxence Lacroix joined this summer, Honest Ahanor is still to come, and there are a host of young defenders out on loan on in the academy trying to take Levi’s spot.
