Chelsea have just played out an entertaining 6-3 win over Leeds in the Carabao Cup after a massive second half comeback.

Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers both started on the bench, but ended up coming on at half time with Chelsea two goals down. They and their fellow substitutes turned the game around with a second half avalanche. But the fun didn’t stop at full time.

Palmer was given the man of the match award after scoring two, with one of them a penalty. Rogers was chosen to hand Palmer the man of the match award, and he was fuming that he wasn’t the one receiving it.

“That’s criminal” he said in mock fury, pointing out that he had got four assists in the game. “He scored a pen,” the attacker added derisively.

It’s all a laugh – and it’s such a pleasure to see two genuine friends playing together at this level. But you can see the element of real competitiveness there which drives these guys on to the top level. Rogers won’t be forgetting this slight anytime soon.
