John Terry is doing a variety of punditry work ahead of the World Cup, and today he’s been speaking about the deal that took Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid which was agreed earlier this week.

Terry is a big fan of the defender, and isn’t sure about the deal to sell him.

“He’s going to be a big loss to us. Actually, he’s been one of our best players the last two or three years,” Terry said.

“I think for Alonso coming in the door and [Cucurella] walks out the door, doesn’t look good. He spoke about it recently, that he wanted to go. So it’s probably been his dream to go and sign for Madrid. So, listen, I’ve got nothing but good words to say to him, and I wish him good luck.”

We agree it’s not a great look – we’re praying that it was given the green light by Alonso. Frankly, if Cucurella wasn’t going to sign a new contract, Chelsea had no option but to sell now and avoid losing him for a reduced price.
