Chelsea have been trying to sell Benoit Badiashile all summer, and progress has been incredibly slow.
There has one team with concrete interest the whole time – Napoli have been talked about all summer. But it’s proved very difficult for the teams to find the right deal. It’s going to be a loan with an option to buy, but even two weeks after establishing that, there’s still debate over the exact terms.

Fabrizio Romano’s latest Tweet on the matter does give some hope – he says that the Frenchman’s medical is booked for this week, and “all documents are completed on the player’s side.” Napoli apparently signed Badiashile “last week.” It’s going to be a €3m loan fee, with a €27m option to buy him after the season, from what we understand.
One wonders why they’ve waited so long for this medical and the finalising of the deal, then. They start their Serie A season this weekend against Genoa, and Badiashile surely won’t be ready to play in that game after all these delays.
