Emi Martinez’s move to Chelsea was a bit of a surprise in the end. Just when everyone had given up on the idea of Robert Sanchez being replaced, the club suddenly went and did it.
The Argentine goalkeeper has been speaking to TyC Sports while on international duty about why he decided to leave Aston Villa after many successful years there.

“I tried changing clubs to mentally refresh myself, and I succeeded,” the former Arsenal played explained.
“I came here, and it was the best thing I did because I feel useful, fast, and good. In the end, I have to represent my country, my family, and I have to do my best.”
While it may have refreshed him mentally, it would be fair to say it’s not working out on the pitch yet. He’s not kept a single clean sheet, and the team are bottom of the goals conceded table in the whole league.
It’s not all his fault, but we need to see dramatic improvements, starting with him.
