The summer is in full swing, with the World Cup just days away. The fact that players are occupied won’t stop the transfer rumour train, however.
Enzo Fernandez’s move to Real Madrid is set to be one of the big sagas of the summer after the midfielder made his intentions to move on pretty clear back in March. Chelsea want a profit on the £105m they paid for him, and have slapped a £120m price tag on him.
Real Madrid and Chelsea prepare for battle over Enzo price

The Sun say that Real Madrid “plan to test Chelsea’s resolve,” over the former Benfica man, which certainly indicates they’re willing to make bids. Whether or not they real a level Chelsea will accept is another question. Frankly, given Enzo’s value is only likely to fall, we’d be very surprised if the real fee the Blues are willing to accept is closer to £100m with bonuses.
There’s also been the suggestion that a player could be sent the other way to reduce the cash costs, and that would make a lot of sense too.
In other news…
Hernan Crespo has been speaking wistfully about his time at Chelsea, and he has some pretty clear intentions to come back to the Premier League one day…
It’s been a year since Chelsea signed Geovany Quenda, so people aren’t quite sure what kind of impact to expect from him.
