Fabrizio Romano has been giving steady updates on the interest from Saudi club Al Hilal in signing Pedro Neto from Chelsea.
Today he’s back with the latest: Neto is on the shortlist with Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli and “one more winger.
We’ve heard that Chelsea have put a massive £100m asking price on Neto. That reflects the fact that they just don’t really want to sell him. He looks likely to play a good amount this season, and he featured in our final friendly of preseason, a sure indication that Xabi Alonso is planning on using him if he stays.
Spurs join Neto chase – price tag surely scares them off

However, along with that update, Romano also dropped something much more interesting – the idea that Neto could be an option for Tottenham. Spurs are looking to add two more wingers before the season starts, and right now Man City star Savinho is top of their list.
But Romano says that Neto is a “backup option” if Savinho doesn’t join. We can’t seem them paying the £100m we are said to be asking for, but it’s an interesting idea. Spurs have already broken their transfer record this summer – could they do it again?
