West Ham’s stance on £35m Chelsea offer made very clear – but we don’t believe it

Chelsea are certainly considering signing Jarrod Bowen to some degree, although West Ham don’t want to let him go.

Kieran Gill’s article about which players Chelsea could see coming and going this summer is really interesting, and has plenty of insight on what business the Blues could do this summer.

Sales will be top priority, but there’s also room for Premier League experience and an effective attacker in our front line. There are a few candidates on the market, as Gill discusses.

There’s plenty of talk about Morgan Rogers, as ever. But looking beyond that, there’s some interesting detail on potential interest Jarrod Bowen, who would be an older, cheaper alternative which could fit the changing Chelsea model.

Gill says he asked “senior sources” at West Ham about whether they would accept £35m for their star attacker, and they denied it. We’re not so sure how firm that line will hold, however. Bowen has been a great servant, and if he asks to leave it’s hard to imagine they would stand in his way if a really good offer came in.

In other news…

Nicolas Jackson’s actions at the Club World Cup did not do much to endear him to his manager or teammates, it seems.

Enzo Fernandez wants to get his future sorted out soon, but he’s fresh out of luck. Deals that big don’t just come out of nowhere.
