Chelsea are about to be in action for the second time in 24 hours as they play Johor in a friendly in Malaysia. Yesterday’s effort was a comfortable 3-0 win over AC Milan which saw Xabi Alonso’s team go to a new level.
One player who massively impressed was Marco Palestra, who has looked good in all the preseason games so far. Manager Alonso spoke about him after the game and was full of praise for the summer signing.

“He is having a great impact,” Alonso said to the club’s official website after the comfortable win.
“He has a hunger and desire to improve and give his best, and in every game he is getting better and better.
“He played in a different position today, but I knew from his time in Italy he is very flexible and versatile in his game. We are happy he is having such a good adaptation [to life at Chelsea].”
In this game he played as a left wing back. In other games he’s played on the right. He’s looked equally dangerous down both sides, and we can’t wait to see him unleashed on the Premier League. There is going to be a great battle for wing back minutes at Chelsea this year.
