It is heartbreaking news for Alvaro Morata as his best friend died in a car crash earlier this week, The Daily Mail reports.
The Chelsea striker has been out since being sent off against Norwich in the FA Cup replay last Wednesday.
Morata got off to a fantastic start since joining the Blues in the summer. Despite scoring 12 goals for his club this season, the Spaniard hasn’t found the back of the net since the 2-0 Boxing Day win against Brighton.
The death of one of his best friends will have made things more difficult for Morata as he hopes to recover from a back injury.
As per the Daily Mail, head coach Antonio Conte has given the 25-year-old time away from club duties and rightfully so.
