Antonio Conte has caused dressing room unrest as Chelsea players were left confused over the rotation of the squad in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who have also highlighted that there is the growing belief among players that the club will have a new manager next season.
Chelsea head coach Conte, made six changes following the vital 1-0 victory against Liverpool on Sunday, which included the likes of Eden Hazard and Oliver Giroud on the bench against Huddersfield.
Blues captain Gary Cahill, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Victor Moses were also left out of the Italian’s line-up on Wednesday night.
Huddersfield themselves were in dire need of a result as they secured their status in the Premier League for next season, making these changes even more bizarre.
It’s anyone’s guess as to who will be in the starting eleven for the final Premier League match away to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Chelsea must beat Newcastle at the Sports Direct Arena as well as needing Brighton to beat Liverpool at Anfield on the same day.
That’s along with the FA Cup Final against Manchester United, which is likely to be Conte’s final game in charge of Chelsea whether we triumph at Wembley or not.
