Ruben Loftus-Cheek could well be a part of Chelsea’s plans next season despite being undecided on his future, as The Independent reports.
The on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder impressed the public as his side beat Brighton 3-2 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Despite being out of action for the first three months of 2018, the Englishman has clearly re-established himself under Roy Hodgson as the South-Londoners are in a relegation war.
When speaking to reporters after the Brighton match, Loftus-Cheek is quoted by The Independent, giving away no clues as to where his future lies.
“I’ve still got a few games now. I’m focused with Palace. Whatever happens next season, I’m not really looking at that right now. I’ll deal with that when it comes.”
With much expected to change around Chelsea in the summer after a turbulent season for the club, there’s every chance Loftus-Cheek could force his way into the Blues’ first team, no matter who the manager is.
The 22-year-old could also be a long-term replacement for Cesc Fabregas as the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater have offered little competition for the Spaniard’s place in the team.
