Marcos Alonso has been suspended by the FA for violent conduct and will miss the next three matches following an incident with Shane Long in the 3-2 away win against Southampton.
Whilst the incident wasn’t clear at first, replays clearly showed that the Spaniard should have recieved his marching orders after stamping on Long’s calf.
According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, the 27-year-old challenged the ban but his appeal was dismissed by the Football Association.
FA confirm Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso will serve a three and ban for his retrospective charge of violent conduct. Suspension starts tonight. He had an appeal rejected.

Whilst losing Alonso, who has been one of Chelsea’s better players this season and was included in the PFA Team of the Year, is a blow for Antonio Conte and his team, Emerson Palmieri’s credentials will be put to the test.
The January signing from Roma will almost certain play a part in the league visits against Burnley and Swansea along with Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Southampton.
Alonso will be available for selection in time for the heavyweight clash with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in May.
