Two reliable journalists when it comes to coverage of the Bundesliga have confirmed that Chelsea have held talks with former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel over the possibility of him replacing Antonio Conte.
Conte’s days at Chelsea appear to be numbered. Alarm bells were first raised last summer when Conte put pen-to-paper on a new contract, but there was no extension to the length of the deal (presumably just improved terms).
After a major downturn in performances and the deterioration of his relationship with Marina Granovskaia and the rest of the club’s board, it looks as though Conte will soon be on his way out of SW6.
The question on everyone’s mind is – who will replace him?
The Mirror report that both Raphael Honistein and Christian Falk, two of Germany’s most reliable reporters, claim that Tuchel has held talks with Chelsea. Honistein believes that the German impressed Granovskaia during a meeting, though it is unclear when it was held.
