Chelsea are the biggest spenders in Premier League history, more than £250M clear of their nearest challenger, report The Sun.
Many Chelsea fans have vented their frustrations this summer at the board’s lack of spending, with the majority of the money we have parted with thus far being what we have raised through player sales.
However, if we look across the entire history of the Premier League, it is difficult to see a reason for Chelsea fans to complain.
The Sun report that we have spent an eye-watering £1,715,242,236 on players since the start of the competition, including £105M on Alvaro Morata and Alvaro Morata this summer. The exact price of Antonio Rudiger’s transfer from Roma is not noted in the article.
Man City are in second place, but still some way off. The Sun claim that Pep Guardiola’s side have parted with £1,452,465,243 since the Premier League began, with the bulk of that being since the change of ownership in 2010.
