Chelsea are reshaping their squad for Xabi Alonso, and there are some big questions about a number of players whose role under the new coach aren’t yet clear.
On the London is Blue podcast, they bemoaned the club’s recent usage (or lack thereof) of Josh Acheampong, with guest Matisse Armani pointing out that he’s just the sort of player Chelsea would buy, if they didn’t own him already.
Acheampong would be a Chelsea target at another club

“If Josh was playing for Bournemouth, and he had a season where he played 30 games, he would be valued at about £60m and Chelsea would want him,” Armani said.
“Can we just skip that part and play him? You don’t have to buy him, he’s already here.”

We all know it’s true – last year in particular was a disaster for Josh, who should have been on loan playing regular Premier League games somewhere, not sitting on our bench.
However, we always let the hope of a new manager coming in convince us that maybe, finally, Josh will get the minutes he deserves. Over to you then, Xabi…
