Chelsea have been drawn alongside Barcelona in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The Blues defeated Barcelona in 2012 on their route to the final – you remember the story. Fernando Torres, back in Spain, rounding Valdes and ensuring our progression to Munich.
The first-leg of this tie will be held at Stamford Bridge and the second at the Nou Camp. The stage is set for Antonio Conte’s men to replicate our success five years ago – though it will not be easy.
Barcelona will likely have Ousmane Dembele back available for selection by the time these fixtures come around, and Luis Suarez may well have shed the rust and be back to his former self.
We are Chelsea, though, and we should fear nobody. We weren’t in this competition last season, we should be looking for the biggest ties, the best teams, the opportunities for the likes of Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante to announce themselves on the world stage.
We can’t wait for this one!
