Chelsea fans on Twitter are not best pleased that Maurizio Sarri has fielded Eden Hazard as a false 9 for the second game running.
The Belgian started through the middle against Manchester City last week, and it was a move that paid off. However, we thought that it was Sarri adapting for a contest with arguably the best team in Europe, rather than a complete alteration of the system.
While Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud haven’t been able to find any sort of consistency this term, both Hazard and Pedro have been used in this role in the past, with very little success. Perhaps Sarri is the man to finally crack the code?
We have faith in Sarri, and Hazard, but there’s a fair few Chelsea fans on Twitter who are not convinced. They haven’t shied away from sharing their displeasure that today’s team, either. Have a look at this…

Ugh ! Hazard false 9 again . Why can’t Pedro play there , Hazard said he doesn’t like playing false 9 , he never scores much as false 9 , Pedro has played 9 , Scored as 9 isn’t as impactful as Hazard at wings either

Pedro as a false 9 is productive than Hazard bcoz he’s a good finisher, can deal with long ball unlike Hazard. Hazard should not be wasted in that position. My take. #BHACHE #CFC 💙
