Chelsea fans began to turn on Antonio Conte during our stalemate with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues were unable to break through ten-man Leicester in front of the home crowd. Once Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas were (bizarrely) withdrawn on the hour mark by Antonio Conte, it was clear to see that it was going to be another one of ‘those days’.
That’s three 0-0 draws in a week now for the Premier League champions, who have a Champions League tie with Barcelona to look forward too in a couple of weeks. If Conte is unable to motivate his players then we have very little chance of progressing in the competition.
It is has been evident for a while now that Antonio Conte is not entirely content with the squad that he has at his disposal, but that’s no excuse for our recent shortfalls. Conte took a team that finished tenth and turned them into title-winners. This is not the Conte that we all know and adore – it’s almost as though he’s thrown in the towel.
Manchester City are running away with the title, there is very little we can do about that, but there is still the opportunity to make this season a great one. We are in all three cup competitions, and if we don’t win the title, we at least ought to be runners up.
Conte needs to take responsibility for our stagnation and turn our fortunes around. Many of the Chelsea faithful, however, are losing faith in the Italian. Here’s how Twitter turned on Conte after our draw with Leicester:
I’m not saying I want Conte out but I am truly sick and tired of playing 3 centre back & 2 defensive midfielders, we play with one striker who can’t be dropped or substituted, our best player averages 60 minutes this season & we can’t buy a goal…. something does have to change

“Conte isn’t being backed by the board”
Alright, cool. Though how does that make it okay for Conte to be playing the most defensive game I’ve seen in years vs a depleted Leicester side… smh.

Conte out.

Think it’s Conte who has senile dementia and not the guy he accused of having it

Leicester all over us. Conte’s losing it.

New @. I’m grateful to Conte for what he did last season but he’s a shadow of his former self. He’s lost the players and is playing games in damaged-limitation mode. Thomas Tuchel is the manager we need if we want to escape the cycle of instability. I’ll do a thread at some point pic.twitter.com/aiGwwgyu6l

I am lifelong Chelsea fan and I have had enough of this modern day Mussolini destroying my club. Get him out #ConteOUT

I was gonna have pasta for my dinner as well, don’t think I can stomach it after that. Conte has ruined Italian food for me.

You’ve won @Conte you’ve successfully reduced me to clinical depression, not coming back until the world cup starts 🖐🏻
