All eyes are on the World Cup, but the Premier League are trying to elbow their way back into our attentions a little.
They just released the fixtures for next season, meaning Chelsea fans finally get to find out how Xabi Alonso will start his reign as manager.
Chelsea prepare for all London run to start season
A short trip to Fulham is followed by a game at Stamford Bridge against Brighton.
Things get spicy early on, with a match at the Emirates at the start of September against Arsenal. We then have newly promoted Hull City at home, before Brentford away.
You couldn’t really ask for an easier schedule in terms of travel – every game before October is in London. There are no “easy” games in the Premier League, but that’s also a pretty modest selection of games for Alonso to start with. It gives him a great chance to get off to a winning start.
